Crafting at Ormskirk Medieval Weekend 17th & 18th May 2014

Ormskirk Illustrated

This weekend I’ll be joining the fun in CoronationPark, Ormskirk, at the annual Medieval Festival.

There’ll be lots of exciting things going on and I’m running a family friendly craft activity.

Come along and make a metal  pilgrim badge inspired by illustrations of birds and beasties from illuminated medieval manuscripts.

You will use basic tools and crude metalworking techniques to create a truly original Ormskirk Medieval Festival Pilgrim Badge.

Badges take about 15 -20 minutes to make and be ready to wear on a hat or clothing.

The activity is suitable for all ages though children under 8 years old must be with an adult.

    • Thanks, Sharon.
They are faithful to the ethos of medieval makers… very shabby, cheap and cheerful! Also, I had to devise a technique that could be done in a field with no prior skills in twenty minutes!!! Here’s hoping all goes to plan. At least there’s a heat wave predicted!
